You will be picked up from your hotel in Cairo at 10:00 am and travel to Dahshur in a comfortable, air-conditioned coach. Dahshur, about 30 km south of Cairo, is a pyramid field with 15 completed and started pyramids from the 4th - 13th dynasty. You will visit the so-called Bent Pyramid (it got its name from a bend in the side walls, which cannot be found in any other pyramid in Egypt) of Snofru, which represents a decisive turning point in the history of pyramid construction. Sneferu, the first pharaoh of the 4th dynasty. Then visit the Red Pyramid, which got its name from the limestone used as a building material. It is the third largest pyramid in Egypt and the first real pyramid to be completed with no structural defects and served as a model for the Pyramids of Giza. Now it's time for lunch at a selected restaurant. Continue to Memphis and Saqqara. Then visit the alabaster sphinx and the colossal statue of Ramses II. The necropolis of Saqqara, along with Gizeh, is one of the most important burial sites in Lower Egypt. The largest and most impressive tomb is that of Pharaoh Djoser from the 3rd dynasty of the Old Kingdom (ca. 2650 BC), with the famous step pyramid. This pyramid is considered the forerunner of the classical pyramids. The five steps of the pyramid that are still visible give an impression of the technique used by the builders. The burial chamber of Djoser is below the actual pyramid. In addition to the step pyramid, you will visit the pyramid of Teti, the tombs of Mereruka and Kagemmi and the Imhotep Museum.
